It was truly an honor to mentor and certify ten of Mississippi's finest professionals as Mental Health First Aid Instructors last week as part of Mississippi HB 1222. This bill requires all law enforcement officers to be trained in Mental Health First Aid by 2031.
The newest instructors were among the first school, NAMI Mississippi, University, corrections, and law enforcement professionals to answer the call to become instructors..They will be leading the way in ensuring their partners receive this positive life changing and sometimes lifesaving skills.
All of the instructors are amazing people. Mississippi communities are going to benefit tremendously from this initiative. For more details about HB 1222, please see the link below.
